Really spicy flavor, traditon witbier flavors through to the end. Sampled at 2007 Hickory Hops. 19641948 (491), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Sep 19, 2006 Look, if I ask for a "fruit-free" serving, please respect my request and leave the rim free of citrus, wouldya? An orange slice is tossed to the side with this one. Pours a boring "fizzy yellow lager" color with a scant white head. Clear and utterly lacking in appearance. Sad. Shy aromas here. Is there really a fragrance here? Some graininess. No spicing. No fruitiness...outside of the orange slice I discard. Coriander and orange are rumored to be involved in the flavor, but the coriander was absent and the only orange I detect is due to the slice on the lip of my glass. Thin and watery. Lacking in character. Drinkable? Possibly. But why would you want to? Boring. wilkie (1191), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA

At WBF in Raleigh 2008. Big white head, cloudy, pale golden appearance. Yeasty, fruit, coriander in aroma. Flavor is similar, quite spicy. Fish (439), Kure, Japan
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 8, 2006 This is a really refreshing beer. It’s fresher than the bottles of Blue Moon White which are pretty widely available, and the flavor, I’d say is more well-developed in the Old Well White. Pale orange-gold color, served with an orange wedge, which accentuated the spice and the citrus character of the ale. Some yeastiness, although this beer wasn’t that cloudy at all. It had a slight sourness to it, which I thought pleasant, though perhaps a little out of character for a Witbier. theacelatrain (262), Washington DC, USA

*Mine was served with a lemon wedge, which didn’t help its case.
