The nose is predominantly of oranges and orange peels with some grapefruit and pine too. Nicely medium-bodied and pretty smooth. Starts with some sweet caramel and a little citrus. Finishes with some sizable graininess along with a big bitterness that lingers quite a long time. This is very piney and sticky. Definitely as good as, if not better than, a can of Dale’s Pale Ale. sneagrams3 (1757), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

Clear amber golden hue. Mossy and alcohol in the nose. Initially, citrus, floral and spicy, the finish held a syrup and malt flavor. BuckNaked (1204), Tempe, Arizona, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 29, 2005 On tap. Pours copper red with thin, foamy head. Fairly standard IPA with a decent amount of hops. A little too piney, lacking any roundness or fruitiness for balance. One of the restaurant’s best, but that’s not saying much. Pours a darker shade of amber with a monstrous rootbeer-float looking head. Aroma of floral hops and malty toastiness. Flavor has notes of caramel, toasted malt, grapefruit, citrus, piney (cascade probably) hops. The taste is very well-balanced; a good mix of caramel maltiness and hops. Moderately sweet, good bitterness. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation and a smooth texture. Overall, a very nice beer. Scubatrip (388), Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Sep 7, 2005 From a can, pours a clear, deep red with a foamy white head that lasts pretty well. Aromas of cherry, hop pellets, and malt extract. Tastes slightly hoppy to begin with, as well as some cherry, and finishes pleasantly hoppy. Really a different tasting IPA, but quite good.
