Bright copper color with big air bubbles and totally clear. Nose is sharp malts and booze. Taste is malty up-front with a more hop-oriented finish. Very sticky and a fair amount of burn made this taste like a much stronger beer than it is. Came across as a thinner version of a barleywine. I wouldn’t mind getting it again next time I’m there, but it certainly wouldn’t be the reason I go back.

Draught at the brewpub. Clear dark golden color with thick bubbly white head. Malty nose accented by delicate citrusy hops. The first sip was modestly sweet with a hint of fruitiness (maybe pineapple). There is also a subtle sprucy hop flavor and mild hop bitterness that comes out more and more with each swallow. Nothing to write home about.

This beer was made with one malt variety and one hop variety. Which variety I know not the menu didn’t say. Shiny, boozey, apricot colored liquid. No head. Bubbly though. Nose is inviting at first. Malty sweetness that is subtle and delicate. Apricots. Then a harsh c-hop presence that is rather brash. Flavors are a mixed jumble of razors edge flavors. Malt is assertive. Sweet and then dry. Very moody. Hop bitterness is acridly bitter. Sharp as a razor. Grapefruit for sure. All in all not that great.
