yespr (6943), Copenhagen O, Denmark Aug 7, 2008 50 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a redish glare and a crispy tan head. Dense caramel aroma. Flavour is extremely sweet - much towards a Danish hvidtøl. Raisin fruity notes. Sweet and caramel flavoured finish. Maria (4439), Thisted, Denmark Feb 1, 2008 Dark brown with an OK head. The flavour is sweet and candy-sugar-like. The flavour is incredibly sweet and rather watery, but it has some hints of candy sugar and caramel. No, I prefer a Danish Hvidtøl - please... kappldav123 (1072), Markkleeberg, Germany Dec 22, 2007 The bottle looks a little bit old and somehow alternative. The beer is very malty, not too sweet. That’s good. A very drinkable and good doppelcaramel. larsga (2319), Oslo, Norway Oct 19, 2007 Medium beige head. Deep dark red, almost black, barely translucent body. Vague, indeterminate aroma, at times acidic and at times sweetish. Strange. Sweet blackberry taste with chocolatey notes. Lots of carbonation in the mouth. A bit watery. Hardly any bitterness, and no real resistance. Quite nice, though. (0.5l bottle from Rewe supermarket, Leipzig. Now I notice omhper has noticed "fruit syrup" in the ingredient list. Yeah. That figures.) omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Sep 3, 2007 Updated: Dec 25, 2007Bottled at Monk’s Café, Stockholm. Dark brown, rich head. Dusty, raisiny wort aroma. Very sweet and light bodied. Dextrose and worty malt dominates. The mouthfeel is sticky, and instead of bitterness there is syrup. Ingredients lists glucose, fructose and syrup as well as "farbstoff" ahead of hops. No really? Pretends to be something it’s not.
