| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 12, 2007 Pours a clear deep reddish-brown or auburn color, with a thick mass of tan foam, at least 3" high. Solid lacing through and through. Mild hops in the aroma - much subtler than the flavor would suggest.
Let’s start with the malt - caramel, toffee, and a bit of dry grains. Then a prominently bitter taste kicks in, with lots of citrus and spicy hops. Ample body and carbonation. Excellent.
The beer finishes with the same bittering and spicy hops. There’s just a hint of a licorice flavor in the maltiness that I pick up in the aftertaste.

Poured a dark copper / orange color (almost brown) with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, oranges, and pineapples. Tastes of caramel, vanilla, citrus, pine, bread and I was getting some plums. Nicely balanced. Light lacing left on the glass. Smooth and easy drinking. Pours a translucent ruby amber with a foamy off white medium head that left some lacing. Aroma of orange, floral hops, caramel, hints of pine, various fruits and grapes. Flavor was malty, some roast, hop bitterness that lingers and yeast. Stine (1380), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 5, 2006 Pours to a chestnutty amber with a beige, wispy head. A very well balanced IPA altogether, accenting unique qualities of all its components throughout. Aromas of butterscotch, smoke and citrus, with flavors of pineapple, peach, caramel and toffee. Couldn’t ask for a better malty IPA that isn’t a double, really.
