Aroma of mild fresh earthy piny hops and some grainy crystal malt. Body starts with lightly toasted and sweet pale malt giving way to lots of earthy bitter English hops and a drier, toasty finish with lingering bitterness. A decent English IPA. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 29, 2007 RBSG 07 on tap at THall. A clean light golden amber with a light lacing. The nose is heavy on the malt with hops coming through. A flavor of sweet malt with hops coming through in the finish and really dominate the rest of the beer. Good carbonation and solid full palate really stands out. I’ll sum this on up by saying again you owe it to yourself to drink a full pint. boboski (1095), Alabama, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 10, 2007 Draft at Town Hall. Hazy light amber/deep orange pour. Beige head, fat bubbles, good retention, good lacing. Aroma is pepper, tangerine, lemony hops, grass. The flavor is moderately bitter, with just enough malt to stand out. Wood notes creep forth with warmth and it starts to develop a cask semblance. Alcohol is integrated well. Palate is well carbonated, spicy, peppery. The finish is nicely bitter, spicy and lengthy. Very tasty, very drinkable. jsquire (2107), St. Marys, Ohio, USA
