Commercial Description:
Recreated from an IPA recipe Mike Hoops found from the year 1800. The recipe was altered slightly with the british style hops additions (5 lbs per barrel) spaced out more during the boil to allow the beer to be drinkable now instead of months after a sea voyage.

On tap at the brewpub on 6/22/07: Pours a transparent bronze orange with a well-lacing frothy white head. Aroma of mild fresh earthy piny hops and some grainy crystal malt. Body starts with lightly toasted and sweet pale malt giving way to lots of earthy bitter English hops and a drier, toasty finish with lingering bitterness. A decent English IPA.

Draft... RBSG 07... Lightly hazy golden ale with a small, frothy, white head. Decent retention. Big-time PNW hop nose emphasizes lots of pink grapefruit, other citrus and tropical fruits, along with an earthy suggestion of fallen pine needles. Medium to heavily bitter, grapefruit pith flavor with just a touch of tangy acidity. Medium to full-bodied and extremely tannic with tingly carbonation. Lengthy, very bitter, dry finish.

Golden clear dark yellow with a fluffy white head. Very permufy and acidic/caustic nose of hop pellets, tinny orange and grapefruit sourness and leafy cannibus. Very creamy texture up front - and sweet - before quickly brandishing it’s tougher side: ruination-like texture across the back of the tongue, rough and sharp hop acidity. Overall it’s quite sweet, with some more interesting mandarin orange flavors mixed with the typical soft wood/hop/fruit notes. A very good IPA, the type I really prefer - creamy yet hoppy and acidic - this is a good brew. Big thanks go out to Pigfoot for the gift of a growler of this stuff.

Draft @ Brewpub: Hazy orange, light head and lacing. Nose of light hops, earthy, grassy, nuts, caramel. The flavor is chewy, not very hoppy, but a sweet nutty finish and a full zesty mouthfeel. Decent, but nothing on the prior IPA (Super Centennial).
