Bright rusty orange. Slimmingly small and bubbled capping of off-white doesn’t keep long when served. Some stringy lace sticks while consumed. Aroma is of waxy, soapy pine resin. Tenderly smokey with some solid orange oil drops and some malt sweetness appear stronger as it warms. Taste is super gliding smooth and firm with a creamy, easy going caramel malt backing, teethed by a small edge of toasted malt evident in the background. The Amarillo’s do there thing nearer the end as it picks up finely tanged pine resin, orangey grapefruityness, and some nice smokey hints to wild grasses on top of the a growing toasted turf of malts. Semi waxy, clean, creamy, frim, bold, and quick to the tongue with a soothing pleasure of a simple, yet yeilding amount of sweet malt and toasted factions adding to the hop toned finish of cleanly bright pine resin sap, wax, and floral grassy soap. No surprise here...another fine drinker of a hoppy toned ale by TH.

Rating from DLD: Coppery hue with a small lasting head. The aroma has notes of caramel, grainy malts, grassy and light pine hops, and an earthy ester. The taste was more towards the hop character than anything else, sharp bitterness upon the finish with a hint of metallic tone. The mouth feel is lively and refreshing. A good brew and not our standard amber ale.

Growler. Thanks to Stine for sending me this. Pours a deep amber body with nice head. Grassy aroma, hoppy, with some caramel. Flavor is sweet with a big hop flavor but not overprowering. Sweet malty taste in the end of each sip. Some caramel detected to. Very smooth and well balanced. The amarillo hops in this were balanced well. I like this hop but have seen it in other beers where it was too much in your face. Posibly the best Amber I ever had.

DLD. Medium brown color. Aroma was mostly hops, with a hint of malt only. Taste is almost all hops--very suprising for an amber. Bitter aftertaste.
