| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 19, 2006 I have misplaced my rating sheet, but I don’t need a sheet to realize that this beer rocks! A very dark beer with large brownish head. Smells of sweet chocalate, roasted malts. Flavor is fanatstic, vanilla finish (I think?). Writing this is making me want another one. Highly recommended. hezron (604), Viroqua, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 17, 2006 Nitro tap at the brewery. Chocolate mousse, vanilla, a hint of bourbon and a lot of black roasted malt make the aroma very nice on this one. I know it isn’t bourbon barrel aged, but I pick up that tiny hint in there somewhere. Dark black in color with a slight amber-brown color around the edges and a thin, creamy nitro head. Coffee in the flavor, roasted coffee with some molasses and sweet chocolate cake that is balanced by a small level of black, malt bitterness in the finish. Medium body, slightly dry while remaining almost sweet. eboats (901), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 2/10 | 3/5 | 3/20 | Dec 6, 2005 HIGHLY dissapointing! It started off strong by looking good. Had a black body with a brown head. One of my favorite looks for a beer. Aroma was kind of funky though: some coffee, and a little roast, but most cardboard. I thought ok the aroma is off with the cardboard notes lets give her a taste. This is where I got OWND! The use of nitro made the beer taste like CRAP, combine that with its gummi bear?!?! taste and you have gummi bears loaded with ntiro. Not very pleasing at all. Actually had some hops come through in the finish. It had a solid body which is normally a good thing, but in this one all it does is make the nasty ass taste even stronger. Remove from menu please. DID NOT ENJOY. CharlesDarwin (1860), Point Judith, Rhode Island, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Dec 3, 2005 Pitch black, witha cream and coffee head. Deep coffesque and cream aroma with tons of cocoa and roast. Flavor is smoky, seet, creamy and loaded with sugar, molasses and more coffee, yet mellow rounded and fruity, almost like this beer has had a mellow barleywine added to it. There’s a subtle gentle brandy quality, with warming tones and a high level of complexity and depth. I’m really enjoying this. A decent run of Tahitian vanilla bean and sweet caramel. Lucious. Damn, Town Hall makes Stouts best. RAYBOY01 (1869), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 16, 2005 Ontap at brewery (nitro-infused): decent pour: rich black and full cream colored head. Aromas of chocolate and burnt sugar. Flavor was drier than anticipated, with however a distinct dried fruit note. I was distressed by a fake creaminess in the palate and, on the otherhand, a surprising thinness of body. Just OK. SuIIy (1486), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA

Nose is lots of coffee, decent amount of roast and some dry chocolate. taste is a little thin, lots of coffee and roast, some light coffee notes are present. DiscoForever (69), Dunedin, New Zealand
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 2, 2005 Black with tan head. Aroma is massively chocolatey with a late hint of fruit. Tastes amazing: chocolate, lightly roasted coffee with cream, dark stewed fruits, sweet caramel and - yes - there’s the alcohol. Like drinking liquid chocolate silk - thick, but not cloying and finishes quite quick then leaves a long and gentle roasted bitterness. Superb.
