Flavor is vanilla, peat, and plenty of mellow dark chocolate, whiskey and finished very dry and well balance. Really great stuff, really a shame they don’t growler it.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 3, 2008 From a growler borne by that elitist Chicago area RBian, <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?UserID=1 Thanks, Kevin. It poured thick dark, dark brown body with a modest, bubbly tan head. Complex aroma - chocolate, Bourbon, dark caramel, vanilla, roasted malts, cold coffee. All blend smoothly in the flavor which also introduces some dark dried fruit. A bit of woody bitterness shows up in the finish. Nice.

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 29, 2008 Pours a very dark brown in color with a nice, slight head. Very nice oak, vanilla and bourbon notes in the smell. I can and did smell this for awhile before tasting. The taste did not disappoint at all. More notes of oak, vanilla and bourbon, but complimented wonderfully with cocoa and a slight espresso. Incredible beer. Reminded me of Older Viscosity. Well done. dm9831 (1167), Monee, Illinois, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 27, 2008 GTMW 2007. Black with ruby edges and a one finger creamy beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, bourbon (not too strong), sweet caramel, and light raisins. Flavor is basically the same, though in different amounts. Bourbon, sweet caramel, roasty malts, and some light bitterness winding down to a woody dry finish. Medium creamy body with low carbonation. Pretty good beer, though I think just a tad overrated--not that it was bad, by any means. I just expected to get blown away. This went down smooth even with the high ABV. Not harsh in the least. fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA

Nice black pour with lots of dark fruit and chocolate aromas. Some Coffee but mostly bitter black chocolate and touches of wood. Nice
