Pourse a clear pale straw-yellow with foamy head that almost entirely disappears after a while. Aroma shows leafy hops, grassy meadow, a touch of fruit and a bit of "old sock" common to Dortmunders, which is the main reason why I don’t care for the style. Flavor has a modest but sharp, crisp hop bitterness with light grassy grains, a nice tart-ish fruity note, and a bit of that stupid "old sock" flavor. Palate is light-bodied and prickly.-- it’s kinda fun swallowing a mouthful of this stuff. This is a surprisingly drinkable rendition of a style I usually don’t care to drink.

Nov 10, 2009 The color was a nice light gold with nice grassy yellow tones. Small head. Mild aroma, though it had some grassy hop overtones. Crisp on the palate -- lively. Hints of honey, some grass, a detectable sweetness but it’s faint. A decent beer, but not a favorite.

Nov 2, 2009 Poured into pint glass from tap.
Clear and bright yellow gold with small head.
Not much aroma - some grass, sweet fruit and light noble hops.
Slightly sweet fruity malts, with a nice noble hop counterbalance. Also notes of bread and grass. Finishes somewhat bitter and spicy.
Moderate carbonation, light to medium body, somewhat dry finish.
Great refreshing beer. Not as bitter as a Pilsner but definitely more punch than a Helles. Pretty good Dortmunder overall.

Aug 30, 2009 A crystal clear golden color, with a foamy white head that lasts. Sweet, spring, floral, balanced aroma. The flavor is like honey and hops, with Saaz dominating. A great cold, refreshing flavor, lively mouthfeel. Laces well. Finishes with a bite on the roof of the mouth. This is the kind of beer that is really refreshing on a cool spring day by the river, fishing, or just sitting on the bank.

Jul 26, 2009 Sample at the brewpub. Gold pour with a big white head. Crisp grain aroma, very clean. Nice and malty with a small hop bite in the finish, very nice dortmunder.

May 26, 2009 On tap at Town Hall on 05/26/2009. Very clear golden body with a medium creamy white head. Sweet pilsener malt aroma with some honey and a good floral and grassy hop kick. Somewhat grainy pilsener flavor with some grassy hops. Medium light body with moderately high carbonation.

May 22, 2009 On tap @ brewery. 10 karat pour produced a fizzy ivory head that left only spotty lacing. Nose is somewhat grassy, grain, and a moderate amount of hops. Flavor matches but is fairly mild...highly drinkable but, as I always do, would want something more aggressive.
