beermatrix (1497), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA Oct 25, 2007 After enjoying the hell out of many of these on-tap during this past week, a growler was needed in order to get a solid review - Medium hay gold color, kinda clear with a slight smearing of tone and glare. A few, very slow bubbles rise up within the body. Startchy medium sized topping of semi crunchy looking white foam sits on top. Lots of thick lacing in zig-zagged strings all over the place plaster the glass as its consumed(easily).
Clean, yet pungent of hop flowered resinyness and a lemony sweet backing for a pleasing aroma with a tint of grass and some nice buttery tones to it. Actually, this is quite reminiscent of the Single Malt with just a bit more lemony hop cone freshness to it. I wonder if the Golden Promise malt was used in this?
Taste is outstanding! Clean, crisp, crunchy, fluffy hop textured tone up front with a nice balancing sweetness behind. Kinda toasty and buttery. Has a uniquely set lemony pithyness and high ended grass tone to it with the hops. Nice lasting flavors that are milding yet forward without a full on hop over load. Clean, crisp finish with a floating pithy bitterness and bite of pine and flowering fall grasses.
Firm and rounded medium body with a great balance of sweetened, lightly toasty breads and lemony crunched hop grasses. Seemingly simple but carries a creative complexity thats intreguing as hell and lasts just right through to the finish
Out of this world drinkability. A true sessionable Pale ale here. Another Town Hall gem of a pale. Reminds me alot of the Pizza Port Amigo Mexican Lager I had many of in Carlsbad a couple summers ago.
BDR (1864), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Nov 1, 2007 Tap during 10th Anniversary week. Malty aroma with some citrus hop. Grainy flavor with a hoppy finish. hellomynameis (743), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Oct 25, 2007 very light golden colour with a medium white head. The nose has some citrus and pine hops. The flavor is all pale ale with a medium blast of piney hops. Not much to it...all hail the town hall pale. undsioux7 (478), Cologne, Minnesota, USA Oct 24, 2007 On tap. Pours clear light gold with an off white head. Light citris. lemon aroma. Slightly sweet malt taste. ok tennisjoel (725), Shakopee, Minnesota, USA Oct 23, 2007 Interesting aroma. Typical grapefruit but accentuated with a sweeter fruity boquet. Flavor is cereal grain mixed with light hops. Some honey also detected. Nothing too special and a bit boring.
