Pours a nearly translucent cloudy copper-caramel color. Shock-white head sits on top of the beer and leaves nice lacing in its wake. Aroma is fantastic blend of pine, citrus and apricots -- smells delicious. One sip and the "apricot" in the aroma gives way to the true fruit flavoring of this beer, namely mango, and it doesn’t work as well as the aroma would have promised. But it’s still pleasant, drinkable and inventive. That said, one is enough -- I definitely wouldn’t drink glass after glass of this.

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 30, 2009 Pours amber with white head, nose up front is hoppy and a bit of mango. Taste up front is lots and lots of piny hops, the mango mixes in a bit of the way through and mixes incredibly well with the citrus, finally leading to a hop bitterness at the end. My favorite fruit beer of all time, the mango is wonderful in this beer. kramer (2527), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 25, 2009 On tap, at brewpub. Pours a slightly hazy dark gold with a one finger foamy white head that had decent retention. The nose is a really nice combination of citrusy hops with just a light accent of mango sweetness. It’s very pleasing in it’s subtlety. The flavor is similar to the Masala Mama up front with the mangos working really well with the citrus on the finish.. Something with the mix of tropical and citrus fruit really does it for me with this. Medium bodied with a slightly clingy resiny finish. Overall a really nice beer, not quite as good as the original, but it’s a nice twist. Sean9689 (46), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 15, 2009 Served on-tap at Town Hall. Poured into tulip glass x2.
A - Burnt orange color, thin head with no retention or lacing.
S - Sweet mangos mixed with a light dusting of citrus hops. More mangos then hops, that’s for sure. Both of these characteristics meld well together...much better then I was expecting, in fact.
T - Much like the nose, sweet mangos and hop notes. More hoppy bitterness on the palate when compared to the nose. They have combined these two characteristics together perfectly, and it makes for a damn tasty beer. Not too sweet, not too hoppy...juuusssttt right.
M - Light to medium bodied, gentle light carbonation, clean and refreshing. Syrupy finish, but doesn’t detract from anything.
D - I wish I lived a lot close to Town Hall. They continue to produce some of the best stuff out there, and this one is at the top of the list for me. Just a stellar beer. 13mikey (175), New Hope, Minnesota, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 7, 2009 Tap at Town Hall. Orangish color, little head. Strong mango/citrus aroma and flavor. Slightly hoppy, finish is a little bitter. Flavors and aromas come out much better as it warms up a bit. DalzAle (513), Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Oct 30, 2009 On tap tonight. Clear, orange/yellow pour, minimal carbonation and smelled like a normal hoppy version of masala mama with a hint of fruit. Flavor was hoppy, then malt and finished with some mango and slightly unpleasant bitterness. I’ve had this before and remember it being better. I may need to give this another shot and then rerate down the road. MI2CA (1266), Noblesville, Indiana, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 2, 2009 Cask at the brewery - Aroma has lots of citrus and resin hops. Flavor matches with a very fruity finish. Palate is sharp and tart. This was my first brew at Town Hall after a long day of anticipation. Refreshingly clean fruity IPA. Very sweet aroma, the mango comes through very well, lots of citrusy hops. More mango in the flavor as well, very sweet, but not over the top, very good and very interesting, tasty.
