Commercial Description:
"We try to brew our Centennial Pale Ale every 100 brews, but we missed it this time around. So to make up for it, we decided to brew it with performance enhancing drugs....in this case it's hopped up on, well, hops!! The Super Centennial Pale is a light copper color and just the right amount of malt to balance out the glorious amounts of Centennials we throw in this bad boy!"

Sample from tap at the brewpub. Pours clear golden orange, with a white head. Aroma is very citric and hoppy with a mild malty profile beneath. Flavour is very grapefruit citric only vague malt presence. Goes into a strong and long lasting bitter finish.

Lightly hazed deep amber body with off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, orange/grapefruit. Taste is medium sweet, orange/grapefruit, somewhat dry finish. Medium body, light resin. A straightforward, hoppy IPA-ish APA, very good display of Centennial.

Draft… RBSG 07… Hazy golden ale with a small, creamy, white head. Decent retention. Citrusy, earthy aroma conveys notes of grapefruit, orange and pine. Well-balanced, PNW IPA flavor. Loads of lupulin, but enough caramel malt to hold things together. Medium-bodied with a coarse mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Biting, medium bitter finish.

Draft @ Brewpub: Copper color, light head and lacing. Nose of earthy fresh grassy hops, wet leaf, citronella and vanilla, pale malt. The flavor is nutty and thick with a cottony mouthfeel, super dry and sweet with some hops. Thick and chewy, but not too thick to prevent enjoying. Nice.

Draught pint at the brewpub, RBSG Minneapolis pub crawl, June 22 2007. Clear light copper pour, bit of lasting head, touch of lacing....hoppy citric/piny aroma, hits all the right notes but never quite excites; pungent without being nose-altering....really juicy, but solidly bitter body, bracing and fairly harsh, enough pale and lightly caramelized malts show up to keep you going to the moderately dry, very bitter finish....guess I’m not as blown away as most were, but this was certainly a nice pint that I’d be happy to have again.

RBSG 2007. Copper color with no head. Lots of orange and grapefruit in the aroma. These ramp up to bombastic proportions in the flavor with a fair amount of piney hops as well. The malt is certainly there and tries to balance it out, but a hop monster this be. APA? More like an IIPA minus the insane alcohol.
