MIBRomeo (1889), Wisconsin, USA Aug 14, 2006 06 Batch... cost me $77 bucks for a growler.. 55 of which was shipping.. oops.. overnight saterday.. glad I liked it.
Palate is fluffy well coated light and creamy. Color is lighter on bottom darker on the way up a dark reddish brown straw color w/ a huge thick cream of wheat looking head w/ nice lacing. Aroma is very nice. Clove & some other light spices hints of banannas definate belgian yeasts, a good amount of candied sugars. Very sweet flavor candied sugars plums banannas light clove and a subtle 2nd spice plus a lot of roasty carmel malts that are odd to find in a tripel. Not really true to style but very good.
Ty5592 (1009), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 21, 2008 Growler from Stine. Pours a clear orage/gold color with no head. Spicy aroma of corriander, yeast, banana, and belgian sugar.Nice oliy look to this beer. Taste the same with medium dry finish. Stine (1354), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Jan 26, 2008 Uninspiring clear orange with a powdery foam of white. Yeast heavy aroma of bubblegum, cloves, bananas, and caramelized pear; stinky hints of alcohol and a warming soup of olive oil and red pepper. Pleasant. Rich, smooth malt flavors with plenty of brown sugar, cookie dough and pastry crust. Yeasts are still dominant with the bubblegum and clove presence remaining bare and obvious. Some honey and spice toward the finish; firm and well balanced palate covers the alcohol presence with ease. Reasonably different and nice for the most part. BDR (1984), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Jan 14, 2008 Nice gold color with ruin whisps of white head. Liight yeasty aroma without spice. Much more complex body with faint caramel and chocolate in tv malty body. Spicy mid palate with a dry yeasty finish that lingers nicely. robertsreality (2462), Minnesota, USA Apr 1, 2007 Light Blazened Marmalade with White Head. Pepper/Spices Aroma. Wild Honey Flavor Initially...Light Fruit Notes Along with Spices...Dry Belgian Yeast Aftertaste..Overall Sweet and Dry...Nice and Easy Drinking for a Tripel. detroiter (957), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA Feb 16, 2007 Pours a lightly hazy golden amber with at least 2" of nearly white head. Minimal spotty lace. Nice sweet bubblegum aroma.
The aroma is sweeter than the flavor. Much sweeter - the flavor is actually on the dry side. There is some hop bitterness up front, followed by a biscuity bready malt. Lots of dry spice and some alcohol in the finish.
Lightly carbonated and medium bodied
