Pours a clear copper gold with dense white head that hangs around for a while and leaves lacing all over the sides of the glass. Aroma is of modestly sweet caramel malt and prickly British hops. Flavor is pretty much the same as the aroma, and pretty intensely so, but less sweet and with a slight nuttiness to boot. Medium and pretty tingly palate. Not a very exciting style, but they’ve recreated it well here.

Taste is a bit of British hops that follows into a caramel/bready malt with a bit of bitter at the end. Overall a sessionable beer, but not much flavor here. kramer (2524), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 24, 2009 On tap, at brewpub. Pours a clear light copper with a small creamy off-white head that fell to a thin film leaving lots of thick lacing. The nose is biscuity, toasty, with some slight caramel maltiness. Light English hops. Pretty bitter flavor, very English tasting, with heavy biscuity malt. A little resiny stickiness on the finish. Rather full bodied and a bit too heavy with moderate fizzy carbonation. Overall, not a huge fan of this guy, it’s just a little too heavy for the style. joechristenson (38), Minnesota, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 10, 2009 Strong hop aroma, though not bold. A good amber color with deep orange tones. Soft on the palate, smooth, strong up front, lighter on the finish. Somewhat grassy hops, but there is a toasted malt quality. Easy drinking -- definitely a "session beer" as they say. bsp77 (202), Minnesota, USA

Bright, clear amber with a nice head that persists for a long time with slight lacing.
Aroma of fruit, caramel and light fuggles/goldings.
Caramel and fruit malt backbone with English hop counterbalance. Maybe a little more bitter than the English examples (not that that is bad).
Moderate to high carbonation (too high for the style), medium body, dry finish.
Great example of the style, just a little too carbonated.

| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Aug 30, 2009 The color is between amber and golden and it has a dense off white head. Aroma is that musty, click malt character. Heavy malt, and heavy fuggles, and kent golding hops, as most brittish bitters have. Personally i don’t care for these hop varieties. Creamy mouthfeel. Full flavor. Laces like a blanket. Lingering bitter finish.
