emerica56 (445), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA Mar 24, 2008 Pours a thin off white head with a cloudy orange color, there is also some nice long streaks along the sides of the glass. The nose is of sweet apricot and orange blossom. You can also detect the presance of wheat and those saaz hops used in the brewing process. The flavor initially has a lot of carbonation and some presance of light fruit and that german yeast used. The finish is very bland and has some earthy and floral notes but nothing really exploding on the palate.
jordanb (19), Virginia, USA Aug 3, 2008 Comparable to biting into an orange. A thin, upper-palate mouthfeel with a lingering spicy (and indeed, mouthwatering) aftertaste. A decent example of a wheat beer, though it’s lacking in complexity. fredandboboflo (440), East Setauket, New York, USA Aug 3, 2008 Bottle, bottled on 6/3/08. Aroma up front with the wheat, nice citrus notes (orange transforming to lemon), banana, some clove, increasing upon warming. Flavor gets spicier, pepperier, lemon stays strong. Easy drinking. Sort of a hybrid of the various pale wheat styles. Extremely tasty. LilBeerDoctor (442), East Setauket, New York, USA Aug 3, 2008 Bottle, bottled 6/3/08. Pours a cloudy, hazy yellow with a small white head. Aroma nice and bready with the usual hefe spices. Flavor is sweet and lemony initially with a spicy and bready/wheaty finish. Some light fruits (esp. banana) emerge as the beer warms. Solid hefe, super drinkable, and delicious. Easily a session beer. smjohnst (111), , Pennsylvania, USA Aug 2, 2008 This is a very unique Hefe and I really like it. I am not typically a fan of this style but there is a suddle flavor here that is not typical of this kind of beer. BREWMUSKCLES (751), WEEHAWKEN, New Jersey, USA Aug 1, 2008 not a particular fan of the style this beer was a bit more like a belgian to me, a pretty good one! spicy yes and moderately adorned with clove vanilla and just a touch of banana. good palate that was lightish but substantial. gentle but substantial sweetness that was downright soothing. otherwise just barely beery but to my discerning buds that was enough. cloudy and beige it isn’t pretty except for an interesting roll. impressive for the style. and of importance refreshing.
