lmb1958 (3), USA does not count Mar 30, 2003 Great beer, especially since they started using the "hopback" vessel. My Brother brought from Cleveland brought some Great Lakes Burning River Pale Ale and we did a blind taste test. All three testers rated the Troegs a better beer. mk70 (61), USA Jun 6, 2007 Updated: Aug 24, 2008Nose is fruity with citrus accents. Medium to small white head over the amber body. A nice blend of hops and fruit. The fruit balances out the bitterness from the hops. Very smooth pale ale on a hot day. Delicious. One of the most drinkable ales(for me) out there. I wish they’d expand distribution further out of the PA/NJ area to NY. HighlanderOne (454), Somewherein, New Jersey, USA Aug 16, 2001 This is the best pale ale I’ve ever had.
Excellent hop flavor, great color, body and mouthfeel. urbnhautebourg (932), Annapolis, Maryland, USA Nov 12, 2002 Updated: May 24, 2004Update: There is this unbelievable softness to this beer, and yet it is able to retain real hop character and bitterness. This is the finest American Pale Ale. There is simply no doubt. Old: Loose, rocky head over light amber body. Graprefruit-apricot-pine nose. Lighter, clean, fruit-driven malt (not unlike Anchor Liberty), overtaken a bit sooner by hops, with a long citric bitter finish. Compare to SNPA or Liberty. Excellent. lmahony199 (52), Alexandria, Virginia, USA Nov 3, 2001 Real nice aroma, agressively hopped. Only availavle in PA, MD and VA.
