abcfan (154), USA May 21, 2008 One of my favorite session beers. Aroma is sweet vanilla ant nuts. Pours dark brown with thin off white head. Taste is nutty and vanilla, very smooth on the palate, with a solid malt finish. A very good brown!
fredandboboflo (471), East Setauket, New York, USA Aug 21, 2008 Bottle, bottled 5/13/08. Aroma of roasted malt with coffee, fresh, fertile earth (very unique stuff), peanut butter. Flavor has a nice sweetness typical of brown ales, but richer and with more prominent hints of bitterness, rather porter-like to me. Unique brew, tasty brew, good brew. LilBeerDoctor (475), East Setauket, New York, USA Aug 20, 2008 Bottle, bottled 5/13/08. Pours a dark brown with a small light tan head. Aroma of nice sweet malts, molasses, roasted malts, coffee, maple syrup, and sweat? Flavor of sweet roasted malt. Palate is a little weak. Similar to a porter or even a stout actually. I’m normally not a fan of brown ales but this one was pretty good. Troegs is awesome... Steinface (68), Hatfield, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 15, 2008 A good brown ale, quite a "bit nutty". pleasant in the mouth, goes down easy. Very nice Soonah (490), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA Aug 15, 2008 The pour was a dark brown with ruby highlights that was crystal clear. The head was white to off-white and produced decent lacing. The aroma was roasted malt and light dry chocolate with some lighter sweetness to it. The flavor was dominated by roasted malt. Light dry chocolate and caramel sweetness. Fairly dry, thin mouthfeel. Easy drinking. Nice. smjohnst (124), , Pennsylvania, USA Aug 2, 2008 This is a really good freakin beer. Its a nut brown but it has such a unique flavor to it. They advertise a small hint of chocolate and they are spot on, it really adds to this beer.
