Commercial Description:
Revisiting Scratch #3, we take the same Tripel recipe, add beet and cane sugars to the kettle, and run the wort through our hopback brimming with juniper berries, coriander and yarrow flowers.

Inspired by the herbaceous nose of gin, the berries and flowers give a slight pine/citrus aroma with floral undertones. Scratch #8 has a dry, yeasty finish and noticeable alcohol warming when consumed.

(Bottle) Pours a clear yellow body with a small white head. Aroma is dominated by yarrow and ginger becoming more fragrant as it warms with notes of orange peel, banana, light coriander, juniper, and perfume. The flavor carries much from the aroma with the yarrow and ginger then leading deeper with cinnamon, light citrus, juniper, and nutmeg. Enjoyable!

Nice experiment with the yarrow, which in my opinion turned out much better than Fluxus. Would not be surprised to see more experimentation of yarrow as a substitute for hops in Belgian influenced beers.

A nice S/H/V. Aroma was pretty weak. Coriander, spice and yeast. Pour was a hazy light gold with a one finger white head and very murky and non-moving. Taste was hot and spicy. Tastes like the usual tripel with orange peel, citrus, black pepper and the juniper berries in the background. Thick mouthfeel and a little cluttered. Tastes like they were trying too hard to put too many flavors in here.

Bottle…Thinkin’ ‘Bout Thirteen Hours O’ Drinkin’ (tew man wrecking crew)... Cloudy golden ale with almost no head (small and white). The nose is sweet and spicy with esters of banana and Bazooka bubble gum. Full-bodied and sticky with dancing carbonation. Mostly sweet and spicy with alcohol warmth. Lightly tangy. Wow! Way too spicy... way too sweet… way too hot... overdone! Bottle provided by mgumby10!

Pours a pretty clear straw gold color, with a small white head. Smells of a unique array of spices, banana, orange citrus, and cinnamon. The flavor was heavily spiced as expected, tons of clove, nutmeg, and cinnamon, andcitrus fruit all trying to jell together, but comes up a bit disheveled in my opinion. Seems a bit overdone, like they tried to hard to make it weird. Got a lot of bubblegum in the aftertaste. Pretty obnoxious after a while. Too much for me.

A very spicey aroma, clovish with corriander. Slighlty hazed yellow pour. Very spiced flavor with hinst of bannana and some abv warmth. Full solid palate. Alot of abv riding on a good flavor solid spiced beer very good to me.

Bottle from Mystery Swap 3.0. Pours a hazy yellow color with a nice sized white head. Aroma of sweet spices, ginger, oranges, yeast and malt. Taste is exceptionally smooth and complex. Has a semi sweet spice flavor with a mild, balanced finish. Alcohol is nicey hidden. Very good!
