BeerZack (116), Austin, Texas, USA May 16, 2008 Pale straw color, rough pour barely brings a one-finger foam that quickly settles to a thing bubbly covering that doesn’t lace much at all.
Not too much smell. Sweet and kinda funky grain smell, white bread, a bit dank.
A bit more flavor than I expected from the smell of things here. Honey and bready light malts balanced by some grassy and minerally hops.
Smooth, almost creamy, but the carbonation does sting a bit, light-moderate body. Drinkable, but slightly subdued American Pils.
awaisanen (1161), Irvine, California, USA Sep 13, 2008 From a 12oz Bottle. Courtesy of CharlesDarwin. Mostly transparent, pale gold color with a thick head of small bubbled, light, fluffy white foam. Clean aroma of herbal and floral hops over as subtle pilsner malt base. Hints of lemon. Light bodied, well carbonated mouthfeel with a soft, doughy malt texture. Excellent mouthfeel considering the lightness of the body and the carbonation cleanses the palate perfectly. Flavor of light grassy hops, lemon, and a subtle malt sweetness. Finishes dry and clean, with a lingering bitterness and a subtle sulphury bite. Clean, well executed pilsner overall, with an excellent mouthfeel, pleasant hoppiness, and refreshing finish. My only complaint is that the malt flavors are a bit thin, never developing that rich pilsner malt flavor that the best examples deliver. Thanks, Tom! Homer321 (80), Rockledge, Florida, USA Sep 7, 2008 Courtesy of JoeKinty. pours with good clarity a super light straw color. slight lemon taste, but not much bittering hops. nothing spectacular, but very easy drinking. joeymacaroni (128), West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 2, 2008 pours clear light gold with thin white head. Aroma is of grassy hops. Flavor is definitely light bodied and subtle. lots of grassy hops, some floral notes. Finish is bitter and builds in intensity as it lingers. not really my kind of pilsener. Glouglouburp (2006), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Aug 28, 2008 In short: A bland pilsner on the floral side of things. Very drinkable but very forgettable
How: Tap at Blind Tiger NYC
The look: Clear yellow body topped by a small white head
In long: Nose is moderately hoppy. I love pilsners but I cannot say that a pilsner’s malt backbone is ever wow! And this one is even below average. Bland flavourless cereals mash with no crispness. Not quite enough hops, I found the beer to be slightly unbalanced. Tickling carbonation is a bit too much. Hops bring a floral (dandelions, lemongrass) flavour and not much dryness. Moderately bitter. A below average example of the style. Suddenly a day without Sunshine doesn’t sound so depressing anymore. mcbackus (665), Merritt Island, Florida, USA Aug 22, 2008 bottle shred by joekinty: pours a super clean very light golden straw with a very thin white head. aroma is bright with suttle lemon a little wheat and a good flower hop. aroma is light with a bitter hopiness up front and then a pilsen malt flavour easy to drink.
