Commercial Description:
For periods of fasting without solid foods, Monastic brewers relied on the double bock; a stronger, richer beer to fulfill their basic nutritional needs. Known to them as "liquid bread", a double bock has a strong malt aroma and chewy rich body. In the spirited tradition of naming a double bock in the suffix "ator," we give you Troegenator to provide warmth and richness through the early spring months.

Bottle. Clear mohoganey pour with a thick off white head. Strong aroma like that of a quality dark German lager, a little malty with a good hop presence. Nice flavor, a little sweet, a little roasted and a nice hop finish with an extra little nutty roastedness to it. Nice body to it as well, a nicely put together beer.

Cold bottle from Beach Liquors, Bethany , De. whiskey brown color, off whit head with thin short-lived laceSpicey malt aromea with slight acid alcohol sharpness. Rich-malty round flavor, caramel, chocolate, some wood and raison. Reminiscent of Unibroue Terrible or even a light version of DFH Raison d’Etre. crisp finish. I’ll drink at least 4 of these...

Aroma is stuffed full of dark malts, noticably molasses and dark syrups. It’s dark in color, like a dark red-brown. The head is small, with a light white collar. It’s flavor is full, with a bit of strong malt bodies, the molasses is not overwhelming, the dark barley malts are balanced well with the sweet malts. It’s a pleasant drink. Very well balanced, not too much alcohol, not too sweetness.

Very bready taste, and suprisingly smooth for the alcohol content. Not my favorite, but would surely drink again

Smooth, smooth, smooth. @ 8%, I can’t detect a trace of alcohol. I love this beer as a whole. It really is an original. Honey and bread, with a nutty finish. Poo-Zim-Pee-La!
