Commercial Description:
They took a batch of Troegenator wort and fermented it with a peppery yeast (one of the two yeast strains in Mad Elf) to create a more complex, spicier Troegenator. At a bold 9% abv, this beer is "liquid bread" for sure, and maybe a Christmas cookie as well.

Kennett Fest. Supposed to be Troegenator made with another Troegs yeast. I didn’t quite understand what they are going for here but this wasnt bad. Taste was more of a strong dopplebock than an abbey dubbel, but what do I know? The taste was a bit too sweet and the hops didnt have nice bite. Warming yeah, but not too tasty.

How the heck did I not rate this one yet? Good thing I kept my notes from the cooperstown fest. Apparently they wont make this beer anymore and it was just for that fest. Similar to the troegenator, deep amber almost brown color hazy with a good head. Aroma is very yeasty, somewhat spicy and very estery/fruity. Plum and dates with an additional sweetness coming from the added fermentation and higher abv. Good smooth finish. Never woudl have guessed this to be 9%. Great beer.

Pours tan. Aroma of barnyard. Flavor of barnyard, bananas, and berries with a slight spicyness.

On tap at the 2004 Kennett Square BF. Poured a cloudy amber color with a large off white head. Subtle and light aromas and tastes of yeast and fruits. Sweet.

Ommegang fest. Described as a double bock with belgian yeast. Hazy brown, with very little aroma (too cold). Rather sweet chemical cherry lollipop tatse. Body is more on the heavy side. soso.
