[2483-20090913] Tap. Generic grainy yeast straw aroma. Clear, brown amber body with a quick foamy off-white head. Grainy yeast flavour has some fruity grapes and hay. Medium body. Fair.

2009-09-13. Dark amber brown body with a small white head and lace. Tangy/yeasty malt aroma. ƕ+) Flavour has a tangy dry malt character, sweeter caramel notes, light bitterness. ƕ+) Average palate is lightly carbonated. Meh. On tap at the brewpub as ’Old Mill’

Dark red-amber. Small purple-grey head. Light malt, fruit (cherry?), & hop aroma. Medium body. Fruity (cherry, grape), at first, giving way to light malt & a moderately bitter finish. Slight carbonated, mineral water character.

This suburban sports bar has had a brewery on premises for quite some time. They produce a lager and an ale, though from what I've heard only one at a time. Old Mill Ale is a dark amber ale with pleasing fruity-hoppy aroma, reminiscent of leaves, pears and maybe melon. The body matches these flavours with a slight bitterness in the beginning, followed by a sticky maltiness, a product of the extract nature of the brewery, but not offputting. Carbonation is nice and low, making for a pleasantly drinkable pint.
