hopscotch (4358), Vero Beach, Florida, USA May 12, 2008 Bottle… DLD’08… Hazy burnt-orange ale with a small, frothy, white head. Donut-like retention around the edges of the glass. Smells a bit like a chocolate covered banana. Medium to full-bodied with lively carbonation. Well-balanced as the sweet, dark malts are kept in check by the hops, phenols and esters. Lengthy, fruity, tongue-numbing finish.Kudos to Headbanger for sharing his bottle!
timfoolery (279), Alabama, USA Jul 8, 2008 Bottle from Trader Joes in Fairfield, CA. I aged this bottle for about 9 months before drinking it, although not on purpose. It turns out this one ages well, and we enjoyed it on the 4th. It had full-flavor and clean palate. Some darker fruit flavors there and the alcohol wasn’t noticeable. Very good overall. Sammy (2946), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 5, 2008 Bomber that is well-drinkable. Medium mouthfeel, candyish sweetness. Yeasty aroma. Not very complex but well-served with food. A bomber is a lot. phishpond417 (1110), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Jun 29, 2008 This beer pours a dark amber colour with a large tan head. mildly sweet, soft hop character, nutty aroma. Taste is of strong roaste malts, creamy with a silky finish. BuckeyeSammy (321), New York City, New York, USA Jun 21, 2008 Darker in color, very white head as well.
