Bottle from Trader Joes - Short Pump on 04/11/2009. Clear pale golden body with a large frothy white head. Sweet grain and honey aroma. Sweet corn honey and grain flavor. Medium light body with moderately high carbonation.

clear gold with a decent amount of lacing under a medium sized foamy white head. sweet, corny, metallic, malty aroma with a touch of grassy hops. flavor is pretty non existent with some sweet grainy malt. palate is light and sharply carbonated. 3.8?

Expecting something less than greatness, I did a single clear bottle purchase from the Trader Joe in Orland Park, IL. It looked like urine in the bottle and poured a deep yellow with a short-lived fizzy head. The aroma was skunky and had a bitter grassiness. It tasted of generic malt and corn syrup with a mild bitterness. The finish was slightly tinny. Yup. Something less than greatness.

Unknown Date: Trader José Premium Lager has a very transparent, urine-like color with a fizzy white head. The aroma is skunky and has a definite corn quality to it. The flavor is sweeter than the aroma and grainy. The body is light and crisp with champagne-like carbonation, but it doesn’t feel too fizzy in the mouth. This beer is okay and actually better than most other Mexican Lagers and definitely better than Tecate (I’m not really sure why that beer even came to mind, but it did while I was drinking this) which realy isn’t saying much!

Don’t see myself trying this one anytime soon. Poured a clear, straw yellow colour with a decent head. Aroma was wicked malty, and a little stale. Taste was overly grainy and watered down.

Lets see, its intended as a Corona clone, and it does that quite well, but for a fraction of the price. Looks like Corona, smells like Corona, what more can I say?

Looks like its bretheren. Pours a pale translucent yellow. Smells skunky for sure, grassy, cardboard. The flavor is grassy, a lite noble hop bite, some skunk, cardboard, a little sweet. Not terrible, drinkable at best.

(Bottle) I expected this to taste like a "Corona clone" but it actually tastes quite different. I like the other reviewer’s descriptor "inoffensive"; it says much. Aroma a bit yeasty and bready, much like some of the Italian macro lagers. No skunk, in spite of the clear bottle. Maybe this is because there is not much in the way of hops. A mild macro-sourness emerges toward the end, but it could be a lot worse. Overall? Disappointing for something to come out of Trader Joe’s. Usually they can do a bit better with their store-brands, even when it comes to beer. The best thing this beer has going for it is the pleasant yeasty/bready aroma...but it has little else to offer.
