Cask. At Volo Cask Days 2008. This beer blew its blow-off the first afternoon of the festival and was left to settle until the third day - it was tapped, and several samples were sold on the Sunday afternoon, but it was removed after an hour or two in favour of one of the kegs that had yet to be tapped (this was the last day and several were waiting). It wasn’t deemed infected, just not very good. Poured a murky brown with a smallish frothy off-white head. Slightly sour aroma of dry roast malt, definite black herbal tea and a weird hint of spruce. The taste was VERY tea-like - it was a lot like a Snapple with alcohol. Average body to it, a little acid-sour, with a dry, bitter, almost gritty finish. Odd, not horrendous under the circumstances.
