Commercial Description:
Brewed in the tradition of pilsner style lagers from the north of Europe, this light, golden beer has a delicate hop aroma and subtle maltiness. Harbour Gold is an excellent compliment to white fish, veal, chicken and pork.

Bottle. It’s golden with a thin trace of white head. There’s no carbonation. I smell corn, grain, apples and light piney hops in the aroma. Mouthfeel is thin. The flavour has more of the piney hops in it, some buttery bread, grain, corn.

[1760-20081004] Tap. Mild grains aroma. Clear, pale brown orange body with a medium-lasting creamy white head. Grainy malt flavour has a sweet finish of toasted yeast. Light-medium body. A little rough around the edges, otherwise not bad.

Gold and clear in colour, no head. Smells of wheat and corn. Tastes clean and fresh. Kinda boring, a slight bitter after taste. Nothing special.

purchased at LCBO in Hamilton two weeks ago. Golden colour with light haze. Small white head. Aroma is light malty with a fuity sweetness to it. Flavour is reminisant of a weak wheat beer. Not a very watery palate. It’s a bit of a departure from some of the other beers I’ve had by Trafalgar.

I don't know what to say. It's not my favorite. I got a little of earth and malt in the aroma. Mild golden colour. Malt flavour. slight Butterscotch, so you know whats going on there, diacetyl. Very slight bitter and hop.

Purchased at Appleby Line LCBO in Burlington. 650ml Bottle, 5% a/v Pours a golden colour with a slight white head which quickly dissipates. Very little carbonation to be seen. The smell is largely of malt with wet grass as a side note. The taste is actually not bad, a very malty beer with an unfortunatly sticky sweet aftertaste. Not a horrible beer but not one of Trafalgars best offerings either.

Bomber from MrManning. Thanks Lenny! Gold color, huge white fizzy head. Much carbonation. Funky herbal and corn nose, a bit musty. Flavor is sweetly malty, sort of slippery mouthfeel. Kinda strange.

One of four bombers purchased in the "politics-pack" where Trafalgar is relabeling their standard beers for each party/leader running in the 2006 elelction....vote with your mouth...vote often...The Harbour gold was labeled" Old Tory lager". I also had this relabled as the "festival of friends lager" Poured a crystal clear light gold into the flute...small white cap diminished quickly. Minimal lacing, moderate carbonation. Aromas very faint....some sweet grainy breadiness and very light floral hopping...no Pilsner "skunk" from this fuzzy bunny. Odd mouthfeel for a Pils; slick and peppery. Malt up front... grainy but almost drowned out by bitter tastes peppering the palate....later this mellows as the gas comes out of the beer and we get a mellow grainy-bready maltiness that seems to be over-powered by golding hops ( these are not Saaz) until the finish...slightly dry quick finish, light biscuit aftertaste. Not a very good rendition of a Plisner but a fair enough drinkable all-malt lager. However nothing stands out to distinguish this one from the 300 brands of lager on the domestic market.
