Dec 14, 2009 A better Red Irish Ale that most but still needs to improve to get into the next level. Pours an auburn red. Aroma is of hop and toffee. Taste is malt and quite robust with a nice hop aftertaste which is quite surprising. I wasn’t expecting the hop bitterness at the end.

Dec 8, 2009 Pours gorgeous clear amber but lustrous head from pour quickly disappears. Begins with subdued malty flavour which gives way for a slightly bitter finish. Aftertaste minimal, however lovely mouthfeel. I could use a bit more carbonation or hop bitterness at the finish to entice me to continue drinking.

Nov 26, 2009 473 ml can from OCB Discovery Pack #3. Pours a clear brownish gold with small white head. Caramel and some light hoppiness in the nose. Taste is largely caramel with a mild citrus hoppy finish. Nothing terrible about this but nothing to get too fired up about.

Nov 25, 2009 can. Poured clear orange-amber with a lasting creamy off-white head. Medium bodied, average carbonation. Roasty, malty, and some citrus peel flavours. Moderate bitterness throughout.

Nov 17, 2009 473mL can from an OCB mixed pack. Pours a pale red with a large white head. The aroma actually has some real Noble hops in there, nice, kind of metallic, wet dog, not much in the way of malts. Kind of smells bad to be honest. Flavour is much better though, peppery Noble hops upfront met with some nice roasty caramalts, like sugar crisp in the finish. Aftertaste has some nice crystal malt quality to it. The hoppiness plays off the malts well throughout. Everything integrates well, very good balance. By Trafalgar standards this is excellent and quite enjoyable. I might buy it every so often if it were sold individually.

Présence d’un mince col mousseux et d’une fine dentelle sur le verre. Saveur: Goût de caramel avec une pointe de cassonade. Durée moyenne de l’arrière goût. Palette: Le corps est moyen avec une texture huileuse. Faible effervescence en bouche. Légère présence de caramel en arrière goût. (Rating #2465)

Jan 12, 2009 [1762-20081004] Tap. Mild fruity yeast aroma. Clear, light brown body with a long-lasting creamy white head and some thick lacing. Mild fruity yeast continues in flavour with a weird cloying finish. Medium body. Good.
