Apr 5, 2005 Bottle. Dark red pour, small white head that disappeared quickly. Aroma was sort of sweet but also quite sour. Taste was more of the same - it was like that homebrew tang x 10. Bottle had April 05 stamp (sampled over Easter). All three bottles by Trafalgar that I bought were bad; drain pours; and this was no exception.

Sep 4, 2005 Draught at BeerBistro - 2005 Golden Tap Awards. Dark ruby with a small white head. Strange aroma - like caramel that has gone slightly bad & sour. Flavour is OK, with some coffee and caramel and a mildly bitter finish. Similar to their Celtic, but not nearly as good.

Dec 4, 2004 Bottle. metallic aroma with a slight hop presence. amber colour with a small white head. has a buttery mouthfeel which seems consistent through the Trafalgar beers that I’ve sampled. I’m not too crazy about it, though it is drinkable.

Jul 29, 2005 This trafalgar brew bears a strikingly similar resemblance to their celtic ale, and to some of their other beers as well. Pours a dark brown body with a beige head. Aromas are mainly malty, with some caramel coming through. Taste is sweet, malty, caramel, bread. Very one dimensional, unbalanced. Unacceptable low level of hop presence. Not red. Not again.

Mar 25, 2003 Dark bright copper. Fruity with a touch of hops in the nose. Body is lightly fruity and a bit oily, the hops come in towards the middle but the finish is a bit sweet. Not sure what an irish ale is exactly, but it sure ain't that good.
