May 5, 2004 Pours with almost no head and a red color. Complex aroma of malt, caramel and hops. Nice and sweet flavors of malt and caramel. A nice enjoyable beer, more malty than hoppy.

May 16, 2007 Eye-pleasing chestnut appearance. Deep, dark aromas of heavy chocolate malt and molasses. Not as full-flavoured as expected, which actually plays to this beer’s advantage. Layers of chocolate, coffee and molasses are tastefully restrained, creating a beer that can either be quaffed or sipped, depending on the mood. A well-balanced brew.

Oct 26, 2004 650 ml bomber. Amber colour, thick lasting off-white head. Aroma is very dusty and musty with a hint of maltiness. Flavour shows butterscotch, berry fruitiness. No bitterness and a bit too sweet. Ok, but not great.

Sep 6, 2003 Tasted in Toronto from the LCBO - bottle 650ml. Deep brown / red colour, foamy white head. Sweet and slightly citrus/spice like aroma. Taste of roasted sweet caramel with a subtle buttery after finish.
