Rastacouere (5409), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Jul 28, 2005 Deep golden hue, short-lasting white head. Very fruity nose with almost no traces of alcohol. Tartish apples and pear mixture makes for a weird match with the leafy, floral and citrusy american hops. Citric bite with fruit acids, yet very sweet and desserty. Bready yeastiness doesn’t deploy too much character while the spicy fruitiness dominate. Light-medium bodied, lowish carbonation. redmosquito (172), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA Sep 16, 2004 Golden, to copper in color, with a tight white head which leaves very little lace on the glass. Somewhat cidery bouquet, with hops in the background. The flavor is quite a departure from the aroma, bitter and malty (not overly sweet), with some spices in the background. The finish reminds me of vaguely of pumpkin pie. I like the flavor that lingers on my tongue, like toffee. This is a nice warmer for late summer 11026 (1886), USA Sep 8, 2004 Tap. Pours a lighter copper color. Decent white head. Aroma is of malt and hops. Taste is immediately malty and then very hoppy. Alcohol is apparent. Decent, rough around the edges.
