Ah memories. An average IPA I’ve had many times in the Motor City. But what do I remember? It was one of a few on tap at the time...

While my pint was not as frothy and heady as Hennes', it was as describes and went very well with aged dill cheese. Pairing the beer with a nice food offering seems to excuse this beer for not being a full bodied, exciting IPA. Some hops were there, and that made it alright.

A good local beer. I’m not a big fan of IPA’s but it’s not bad.

This brewery is also a dairy and makes excellent cheeses. On top of that, it is connected to Michigan Brew Works across the parking lot. But these complex business relations aren’t reflected in the rather simple brews. This IPA is a case in point: very smooth and mild, creamy even, with the hops settled way back in all the lightness. It won’t seem to special to any hopheads, but it’s a good brew to introduce the folks of this Detroit neighborhood to the almighty hop. I should note, too, that this is a beautiful beer - deep golden with a huge frothy head.
