Pours a dark, slightly hazy orange with a very short-lived head that left no lace.
The aroma is dominated by light citrus hops, with oranges and lemons coming out in the nose. There is a hint of the caramel malt backbone but not much.
The taste has a fairly abrasive tart citrus bitterness up front that keeps the underlying caramel malts from coming out too much on the palate. The finish has the citrus and hints of floral hops that linger with a solid bitterness after each sip.
The mouthfeel is fairly sticky with hops and a low, soft carbonation that can probably be attributed to the growler.
This is a decent DIPA, but not one that I would highly recommend. The hops seemed to a be a little abrasive in the taste without having a big enough flavor profile to support it. That limits the drinkability slightly. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA
