Jan 30, 2008 Updated: Jul 14, 200833 cl bottle. This is truly an amazing brew from Traquair. Complex and tasty beer with aroma of vanilla and dried fruits. The flavour is extremely enjoyable with chocolate, toffee, dried fruits, raisins and roasted caramel. Slightly better than their magnificent House Ale.

Black with hints of deeps purple with a small head with quickly subsides.
This beer has a great balance between butterscotch sweetness and the spicey bitterness, an enduring conflict which just sucks you in.

May 10, 2008 Slightly port-like caramel and alchohol aroma. Incredibly subtle yet big. This is full-bodied! Slight coffee, some peat and then caramel and hops sneaking in on the finish.

Oct 3, 2007 Bottle. Mahogny with tones of ruby red and a medium-sized khaki head. The nose promises all that is good- chocolate, fruit and roasted caramel. Lightly roasted malts, some coffee, but mostly chocolate and vanilla flavours. Rich, smooth and full-bodied. Life is good.
