Jun 9, 2004 clear copper, big off white head. maple, chocolate, walnuts, and wafer-ish malt aroma. a bit of dried fruit in the flavour with roasted coffee and a whiff of smoke. quite nice.

May 25, 2004 Bottled. Rustic amber body with a steadily rising, well formed and persistent, smooth, beige head. Bitter, medicinal flavours, something like Benedryl cough mixture. The challenging medicinal aroma settles quickly. Toasty, marmalade bitterness, which has good length as is quite smooth.

May 5, 2004 Cask conditioned @ Reading Beer Fest. Cloudy. Woody, fruity aroma with some tobacco notes. Sweet almost cloyinh with building toasty bitterness. Some astringent meatiness.

Feb 23, 2004 Sweet raisiny nose, auburn color, low lathery head. Sweetish beginning, syrupy and light. A little nuttiness in the middle. Thin crisp end with a slight gritty and metallic tinge. Quick profile but a nice balance.

Feb 18, 2004 Bottled: Nice light amber mahagony color. Nose is intense: alcohol, marcipan, almond. Nice bitter, but light taste, also initially alcohol and malt. Refreshing, nice brew.
