Amber color with a beige head. The taste is sweet with spicy notes. Balanced complex malt pattern. Light hoppy bitter palate. Nice one.

Black pepper smeared on silky smooth caramel...Healthy green hop bitterness nourishes the almost oily maltiness and achieves good balance...A nice transition from malty sweetness to hoppy bitterness makes for a pleasant and clean pint of Scotch Ale...

Nice amber color with a thin head. Interesting malt aroma. Sweet malt flavors. Not bad but not up to the quality of Traquair’s Jacobite and House Ale.

Bottled. Rustic amber body with a steadily rising, well formed and persistent, smooth, beige head. Bitter, medicinal flavours, something like Benedryl cough mixture. The challenging medicinal aroma settles quickly. Toasty, marmalade bitterness, which has good length as is quite smooth.

Cask conditioned @ Reading Beer Fest. Cloudy. Woody, fruity aroma with some tobacco notes. Sweet almost cloyinh with building toasty bitterness. Some astringent meatiness.

Sweet raisiny nose, auburn color, low lathery head. Sweetish beginning, syrupy and light. A little nuttiness in the middle. Thin crisp end with a slight gritty and metallic tinge. Quick profile but a nice balance.

Bottled: Nice light amber mahagony color. Nose is intense: alcohol, marcipan, almond. Nice bitter, but light taste, also initially alcohol and malt. Refreshing, nice brew.
