| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 15, 2007 Deep and dark red, very small head, which lasted quite long. Dates, raisins, plums on nose. "Full nose". Flavor isn’t as dense, but has the same dark fruitiness. A little sticky sweet maybe. Medium to low carbonation and soft mouthfeel. Good. skoisirius (584), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 12, 2007 11.2 oz bottle labled at 8% ABV poured into a Trappist glass. Pours a lovely brown toned burgandy color with a slight tan head. Very sweet and malty aroma, sometimes cherry and/or over ripe plums mixed with a ton of coriander rise to the nose as well. The flavor is extremely similar to the nose starting with heavily sweet malts at the front, and moving straight into a heavily coriandered body and finish. The coriander tends to be fairly sweet though throughout instead of being intensely spicey. Dark plums and raisins are present as well. I enjoyed this one...the 8% is not detectable either. Good brew! steaky (16), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Smell of over ripe fruit, alcohol. Somewhat harh on the nose.
Dark brown app. with little head.
Tastes of roasted malt, goes from a mild sweetness to a medium bitter. Medium body.
Over rated somewhat? I wouldnt seek this again. ChrisThomson (405), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 10, 2007 A nice beer, but not as exceptional as the jacobite ale. Colour is dark brown, with light head. Has malty, and spicey taste, but less complex than the jacobite ale. Moz (613), Gothenburg, Sweden
