| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Sep 9, 2008 Bottle. Dark brownish-red color, sparse tan head. Rich toasty malts, spicy with the coriander present but not overboard, light peat presence. Great taste, very Scottish, a wave of caramel malts over moderate coriander presence, just enough to add spice to the heavy malts. Will be picking this one up regularly. hombrepalo (780), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Aroma is spicey and mildy sweet. Coriander and different spices on the tongue, along with dark fruits. The beer also had a nice full and chewy mouthfeel. This was definately a great beer.

Aromas of raisons, coffee, corriander, tamarind. Lightly carbonated. Darkly malty, but not too sweet. Moderately spicy, fig, coffee, cocoa, TheCaptain (559), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 6, 2008 The Jacobite was a very dark wood brown pour. Small foam almond head. Like a spicy root beer although more complex and more character. Nice malt quality, dark fruits but on the low down. Smooth with the spiciness subdued and the ABV just right. Worth a try for sure. There is something else even more telling in there that remains just out of my grasp so I must try again. The flavor was surprisingly simple, a malty sweet flavor without any unpleasantness.
