The nose is hit with toffee, caramel, coffee and brown sugar. The taste really takes after its aroma with the addition of molasses, minus the coffee. I enjoyed this beer quite somewhat. Though, pairing it with a sirloin burger is not recommended. RCL (1488), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 29, 2007 330 ml bottle. Reddish dark with a small light brown head. Aroma has a lot of caramel in it blended with coffee. Roasted flavor with hints of caramel and some dark chocolate. Leaves a bit bitter finish but at the same time a very tasteful experience when you get used to the taste. I can’t say that it stands out but is one of the better ales out there. ratman197 (3254), Arvada, Colorado, USA
