Hazy brown colour with fastfading beige head. Mild malt nose with slight hints of fruit. Thin brown sugar taste with mild hints of molassas and mild fruity and slightly warming alcohol finish.

Rich reddish-brown in colour, long lasting tan coloured head, good lacing. The aroma is very sweet, lots of sugar, toffee and malt. The flavour is of gingerbread, toffee, light alcohol, earthy. Mildly bitter mouthfeel, light body, medium carbonation. Finishes with some faint alcohol, fairly sweet and lingering. Oxidation has set in almost a year past the BB date.

Best before March, 2006.

Bottle. A disappointmet after having tje Jacobite Ale. Sweetness dominating, and a bit thin. Otherwise sharing the Traquiair characteristics.

Nice ruby brown pour with a thin tan head. Sweet malt aroma, caramel, spice. The flavour is swetly malty with a bit of spice and some bittering hops in the finish. This was quite a pleasant brew.

Deep mahogany(ish) colour with a nice bit of head. Aroma of dried fruits, exotic spices and heavy malts. Mot as complex or heavy as Jacobite but still quite good. Might be a hit for tastings with people who’s not too experienced into the world of specialty beers.

Bottle. Deep red / brown colour with a beige head. Sweet, malty aroma with faint notes of liquorice. Sweet, malty flavour with the alcohol showing up in the finish.
