| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 23, 2009 Bottle. Clear and copper with small, rapidly diminishing head. Aroma of citrusy hops and roast barley. Hop bitterness balanced with some malt flavour is up front. The roasted barley flavor follows. Carbonation is about right. This is a good beer, the contrast between the roast malt taste and the hops is just a little disjointed. I thought this beer to be kind of a cross between and IPA and an Irish Red. meeple (56), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 30, 2009 Quite a bit of grain in the aroma along with floral and light citrus hop notes. Clear amber-copper coloured body is topped by a shy off white head that recedes to a partial cover. Round caramel malt flavour with some grainy character and moderate bitterness. Floral hops offer counterpoint. Medium body with a rather pleasant fizzy effervescence. Tulip glass. A bit above fridge temperature. Bottle purchased as part of the Winter 2009 Tree Character 8-pack at Hellsgate in Oct-09.
