| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 3, 2009 12oz bottle from Supreme Liquors, Cambridge MA, 9 October 2009. As Tremont Freedom Trail IPA (guess they changed the name). Hazy ginger colour. Loose head. Not much hop presence on the nose. More like caramel and diacetyl - guess it’s that ole Ringwood yeast again. Some citric hop character on the palate with a slightly tart finish. Medium mouthfeel. A semblance of diacetyl makes an unwelcome reappearance in the aftertaste. More like a British bitter than an American IPA. Middle of the road.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 9, 2009 A nice clear copper body with a white head that had good retention. Aroma had a corn note to it with mild hops. Initial taste was of sweetened corn, some subtle caramel malt notes in the finish. Hops where present but rather mild. Finish was full and carbonation was appropriate. Earlier Rating: 3/21/2006 Total Score: 3 kimd of mild compared to the IPA’s im used too. Brown body white head. Some hops and caramel on the nose. A water downed hop presacne on the intital flavor and finshed with a sweet caramel note. Easy to drink. Palidor19 (1772), Brandon, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 8, 2009 the aroma is quite different reminds of melon and ripe fruit. mouth-feel is a medium full palate. taste is highly malty. the hops are not as potent yet very comparable to other great IPA. a great session for the night. Earlier Rating: 5/8/2007 Total Score: 3.3 This is one of the better IPA on the market, its got a rich maltier presence than most. Malts are robust and smooth, hops are sharp with flavors of grass and slight pine.
This one is a keeper. FROTHINGSLOSH (1991), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 6, 2009 This one came in my beer club. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright orange-amber color with a medium sized beige head that lingered. The aroma was sweet grapefruit and pine with just a hint of grass. The flavor was sour, nutty and somewhat buttery with moderate fruity and piney hops. The beer turned dry towards the medium length finish. Medium body. The butter element really detracted for me. Ok. Earlier Rating: 3/21/2006 Total Score: 2.4 This beer came in my beer club. I have not encountered this beer before. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark caramel color with a large yellow-tan head. The aroma is lightly fruity with a hint of nut. The flavor is sharp, bitter and sour with floral and fruity hops and a sour nutty undertone. A well below average IPA. potbeercollege (348), Boulder, Colorado, USA

Aroma is mostly subdued, notes of fruit and citrus. Light bodied and overall boring flavor, somewhat watery. nick76 (2657), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 31, 2009 The aroma has malt, paper, hay, dust, and a bit of adjuncts. The appearance is light amber with an average head for the style. The flavor is like the aroma with plenty of bitterness. The palate is also average for the style. Overall this beer does not impress, it’s a typical run of the mill IPA. Earlier Rating: 4/28/2007 Total Score: 2.8 The aroma is more like an ESB than an IPA. It’s nutty, buttery, and has some lightly toasted malt but the wrong type of hops for an American IPA. They are grassy and tinny instead of piney and citrusy. The appearance is gold, orange, amber with a two finger head. The flavor is like the aroma with a tiny bit of citrus. The palate is thin. This is not one the better beers from this normally awesome brewer. It’s not bad but it’s not a good example of an IPA.
