jcwattsrugger (3942), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Jun 15, 2008 on tap-pours a big creamy brown head that laces and black color. Aroma is dark malt-chocolate/coffee. Taste is dark malt-chocolate/coffee, acidic. durhambeer (411), Durham, North Carolina, USA May 3, 2008 Tap at WBF in Raleigh. Best Triangle beer I’ve had yet. Dark brown pour, coffee, chocolate, and sweet roasty nose. Same flavors, with a slight sourness as well. They said it was brewed for NC summers, and I can see this. Nice big flavor, especially for a lower-alcohol stout. Will drink this again. emacgee (1053), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Apr 30, 2008 Got a pour of this at the WBF. Pours a nice dark black with a creamy tan head. Aroma of bakers chocolate, coffee, roast, sweetness. The flavor is bitter, waxy, coffee, bakers chocolate. Mouthfeel is creamy and waxy, a bit of a letdown on hte flavor. Suttree (2289), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Apr 28, 2008 Black, with a brownish tan head. Smells like coffee and burnt toast. Flavor is similiar, with coffee and burnt toast again being the main flavors. Some hints of tar (in a good way) and smoke. At the Raleigh WBF. Magjayran (1118), Durham, North Carolina, USA Mar 21, 2008 From notes. Draft at Watts Grocery. Happy to hear about a new local brew available. Looks pretty good. Dark oil black with a large tan head foaming over the top of the glass. Some bitter chocolate and fresh roast in the nose. Dry and chocolatey. Lots of roasted malts. Seems a little thin in body. I have no idea how strong this is but the alcohol is not noticeable at all. Decent brew.
