chris_o (4409), London, Greater London, England Mar 6, 2007 Cask (handpump), Market Porter, Southwark, London, February 2007. A mid gold coloured beer with a thin white head. Aroma is fairly restrained with slight flowery accents and a touch of grass. Sharp, citrus fruit dominates the flavour with developing hoppy bitterness. Not much malt presence in evidence. Although the overall feel is light and fairly smooth there’s a lingering tart bitterness in the finish and aftertaste. Didn’t really pick up the what character, although I can certainly detect some German pilsner character, if at the more bitter end of the spectrum for the style. Not the most substantial beer, but clean and refreshing, if unusual for a February special.
