Cask at the Pembury Tavern, Hackney, london on 25th Oct 2009. Deep red/brown with virtually no head. Caramel malts in abundance with touches of banana and vinous aromas along with a little nuttiness that soon subsides into a generally sweet background with a few hop notes later. A refreshing drink but not a favourite; however it was well kept by the pub.

Cask (Ealing BF2008)
Classic dark mild appearance. Sweet malty aroma, with sharp fruity hop accompaniment. Smooth body. Hoppy and malty taste, both of which stay for the finish.

[cask at Reading Beer Festival] Smokey & sweet without being syrupy. Not bad, but could do with a little more flavour - mouthfeel is a little watery..

Cask, gravity, at Nottingham Beer Festival ’07. Very dark brown. Sweet ashy aroma. Some sourness initially but the ending was a bit watery.

Cask gravity at Nottingham BF 2007. Deep brown with lasting beige. Very good mild, slight caramel, good condition. Lots of caramel, faint roasted malts. Good for the style.

A Mes rate: Cask at Chelmsford Beer Festival. Mid red brown. Bland and boring mild with a very slight sour note. Mind numbingly dull.

Aroma is roasty, though not too roasty, with a touch of chocolate. Taste is similar though a touch to dry from the hops, though not much hop character. Nice drinkable ale though not really that complex.
