zootfinster (154), Chicago, Illinois, USA Nov 27, 2006 After years of reading and hearing about the glories of Belgium beer, I went to a restaurant in Chicago Hopleaf, specializing in just that as well as Belgium food. I am now a true believer. I ran quickly the next day to buy some of the golden goodness I drank the night before. Triple Karleliett is a fruity, delicious wonderful beer that I am confident will lead me to still more great Belgium brews.
nbutler11 (160), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Sep 5, 2008 Pours a hazy straw color from the bomber with a thick off-white head. Very yeasty, almost skunky, to the nose with a frothy mouthfeel and a sweet candy sugar taste. Improves as it warms, especially once the alcohol becomes noticeable on the finish. My favorite Tripel. ckau (11), north east, Maryland, USA Sep 4, 2008 Good beer with nice thick lacy white head, decent retention. Clear golden yellow color with consistent carbonation. flavors of clove banana with a punch of alcohol at the finish. Refreshing drink for a high gravity beer evilsoc (148), Wales Sep 3, 2008 Vibrant orange gold with big white fluffy head. So much fruit in the aroma. Vanilla definitley there, sweet malts. Dusty hops. Such a full mouthfeel. Sweetness first with biscuit and summer fruits, pithy, honey. drying out quickly with a crisp green lingering bitterness. Alcohol shows up briefly. Cracking. Goba (43), Brazil Sep 1, 2008 I love strong belgian beers! Damasc in the aroma, along with orange peel already got me going. The colour was quite nice, some opaque golden to orange. The carbonation, though, didn’t got me up. The foam was nicely white with little beige on it. And the flavor, mamma mia, all those fruits, citrics, little banana, the wheat esters, the oat esters, the oat, and the sweet barley touch. That beer made my day! gameface23 (89), Haverhill, Massachusetts, USA Aug 31, 2008 Pours a clear golden with a fizzy white head. Aroma is sweet and yeasty. Champagne mouthfeel that tastes of belgian spices with floral notes.
