MiP (4951), Flensburg, Germany May 15, 2008 Bottle, 8.5%. Fruity and yeasty aroma, a little vinous and moldy. Cloudy orange colour. Small white head. The flavour is quite acidic, not like a tripel, but quite good. Mouthfeel is slightly thick and slimy, along with the acidity suggesting an infection. Flavour is also fruity, low bitterness. Slightly strange, but still drinkable.
Ughsmash (2985), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Jul 1, 2008 Many thanks to Edo for the hook-up! He even sent a replacement when the first one broke. Poured hazy medium orange with not a lot of headage. The aroma picked up sweeter oranges and pears with toasted peppery spices.. some rubbing alcohol notes on the back especially with warmth. The flavor was spicy with a whole bunch of alcohol heat.. sweet lighter fruits (pear, pineapple, and mango) backed it up.. sweet, sharp, boozy finish. Medium-bodied with low carbonation on the palate.. dry with lots of residual fruity sugars on the finish. This was just aiight, but I’m glad I tried it. Courtesy of bierkoning, thanks Edo!
Hazy orange color, not much head. Yeasty, fruity, orange aroma, a bit glueish too. Fruity, a bit yeasty flavor (mango, apricot). Also typical Dutch sweetness. Annoying glueish notes also in the flavor. oh6gdx (5857), Vaasa, Finland May 14, 2008 Bottled. Hazy golden colour, not much head. Aroma is citrus, white bread, sweet malts and mild caramel. Flavour is fruits, herbs, spices, yeast and quite much bready notes. Wellbalanced and a bit different. As it warms up alcohol also becomes present in a glueish form. bierkoning (4716), La Tropica, Netherlands Dec 7, 2007 Bottle. Deep golden color. Cellary and pineapple in the aroma. Sweet, sugary, alcoholic flavor with pineapple. Burning alcohol in the aftertaste.
