Jan 10, 2008 on tap-pours a disappearing light tan head and black color with red tint. Aroma is black cherry, dark malt. Taste is black cherry, dark malt-chocolate, some yeast. OK effervescence. Nice, medium body, sweet stout.

Dark brown color with mahogany shades. The aroma is a strange mix of cherry syrup, yeast, cleaning product. Horrible flavor, burnt malt and soap, very dry, with a touch of cherries. The final too is horrible, burnt malt only.
I couldn’t drink even half of my glass…

Nov 8, 2007 Draft at brewpub on the way up to GABF. Darkest pour with decent tan head. Very very cherry aromas. Black cherry and cherry pie filling. Flavor was very roasty, but the cherry turned to a sort of cough syrup/medicinal flavor. Better cherry finish though. I thoght it would be better.

Nov 1, 2007 20 oct 07, Draft at Brewpub. Seasonal Beer. Opaque black / brown with a slightly red/purple tint. Looks like a Coca-Cola. Light tan head. Sweet cherry candy aroma. Flavor is very cherry, not much stout. A delicious dessert fruit beer. Sticky glass... Heavy bodied. I probably would not order this beer again, although it was very good.

Oct 16, 2007 Tap at brewpub. Very dark in color. Almost black. Slightly sweet roasted aroma. Reminds me of a chocolate covered cherry. Mostly roasted and malty. Cherry flavor is kind of subtle. Enjoyable brew.

Oct 2, 2007 Half-pint tasting platter. Blacker than the porter, smells like Dr. Pepper (not a good start). Dark malts galore with nice coffee flavours, but everything is ruined by a fake sour-cherry candy flavour. I didn’t care for this as some others did.

black, nice tan head, sweet tart cherry aroma, lots of rich roasted malt flavor well balanced with not too sweet cherry essence, an all night sessipn beer that pairs well with pdi-gow

Oct 2, 2006 GABF 2006. The beer pours to a dark black body with a dark brown head. The aroma is deep dark black cherries. The flavor is sweet cherry juice and charcoal dry black malt. Sort of fake, but still good. Moderate palate.
