| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 1, 2007 A decent beer, most certainly a porter. That however is about all I can say for this one. There are no truly distinguishing aspects of this beer. It has the appearance of cold coffee, quite standard for it’s style. The flavor is roasted throughout with perhaps a hint of sharp chocolate or ginger and I thought it appeared a bit thin on the palate. To round everything up the flavor of this beer is achived by it’s alcohol content which is just barely over a 4.0. It’s certainly a porter but nothing to write home about. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 20, 2006 Hints of bourbon in the lacing, this pretty sweet, though it hides its heaviness at first. Just too sweet for me, but decent enough for the gf. fiulijn (7420), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 7, 2005 big coffee aroma, heavily roasted, almost to burnt, with some sweet vanilla tones as well. the body was a nearly opaque brown with crimson highlights and a thick creamy brown head. the flavors matched the aroma almost exactly, but bits of chocolate and a tad of hops crept their way in. the aftertaste is a strong burnt flavor, which lingers behind. a nice porter, but a little to heavy on the burnt flavor.
