Sample glass. Black with a light brown head. Very dark roasted malt aroma. Hint of coffee. Black salty licorice and coffee flavour. A bit of a sour note.

A decent beer, most certainly a porter. That however is about all I can say for this one. There are no truly distinguishing aspects of this beer. It has the appearance of cold coffee, quite standard for it’s style. The flavor is roasted throughout with perhaps a hint of sharp chocolate or ginger and I thought it appeared a bit thin on the palate. To round everything up the flavor of this beer is achived by it’s alcohol content which is just barely over a 4.0. It’s certainly a porter but nothing to write home about.

Sample at brew pub. Toffee and coffee aromas. Black body with tan head. Dry coco and coffee flavor. This was the best of the five they had on tap that day.

Hints of bourbon in the lacing, this pretty sweet, though it hides its heaviness at first. Just too sweet for me, but decent enough for the gf.

Draught at the brewpub
Dark brown color. Aroma of roasted malt. Thin mouthfeel, flavor based on roasted malt with some caramel. Too much bitter.

nice dark porter: light body, sweet taste followed by burnt coffee. the low abv makes this very drinkable so have 2 or 3

big coffee aroma, heavily roasted, almost to burnt, with some sweet vanilla tones as well. the body was a nearly opaque brown with crimson highlights and a thick creamy brown head. the flavors matched the aroma almost exactly, but bits of chocolate and a tad of hops crept their way in. the aftertaste is a strong burnt flavor, which lingers behind. a nice porter, but a little to heavy on the burnt flavor.
