Very dark brown/black. Off white head. Super sweet aroma. Nuts, bananas, malts, candi sugar, BUBBLEGUM!!! Flavors of bananas, sweet cane sugar. Very light bitterness. Very chewy with a sticky glass feel. Heavy bodied. Heavy alcohol. DuffMan (2719), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada Oct 2, 2007 Half-pint sampler tray, current seasonal "strong beer" selection (that is what the sign says). Cloudy dark brown with an almond coloured head generating fine lace. Big aromas of banana and brown sugar, some bubblegum even. Rich brown sugar/caramel and banana flavour, faintly spicey, sweet but not cloying, very smooth with a warming alcoholic finish. I was very happily surprised-- this was excellent! presario (2953), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Aug 12, 2007 Bonus sample. Big head on a very dark brown beer. Strong banana aroma that always seems surprising from a beer this dark. Chocolate scents as well. Great body. Chocolate and banana with some rubbery notes or texture. Some coffee in the finish. eaglefan538 (2351), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Jun 28, 2007 On tap at Triple 7, poured a brownish color with burgundy edges, off-colored tannish-light brown head. Lacing was excellent. Aroma was nice bananas and yeast, some clovey spices after some warming. The flavor was caramel, bananas, molasses, gentle roast (some ash aspects with higher temperatures), only light spicing (cloves faint even w/ higher temperature). Weak on phenolic / spice character, otherwise a very nice weizenbock, one that surely exceeded my expectations. Mouthfeel was a little sticky, full, appropriate for the style.
